A spider fell out of my ....

Spider-catching tool
Pants! Yes, that's right. As I was stepping into my underwear yesterday morning, I heard a loud thud. And looking down, between my feet, was a medium-sized spider! Now, don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like spiders. I'm perfectly OK with spiders, just not in my pants. The Boxers were asleep on the bed, the husbandly-one having gone out for a run. I screamed of course, and got a dirty look from the little big dog, having interrupted their second sleep. Anyway, moving on. The spider was dazed by the long drop to the carpet, so couldn't escape the spider-catching tool and that was that. Who needs a man when you've got a spider-catching tool?

Spring greens, April 2012
In other news, the rest of the day passed by quite pleasantly. Cake was baked and eaten, supper was BBQ'd. I had harvested a huge trug of spinach and spring cabbage the evening before (smug? moi?), so we had homegrown veggies for supper two nights in a row.

The Royal Mail found the missing item of post (after two weeks). Just as well, as it contained hard-earned payments. The running Husband finished first in his age group (snigger). The Boxers saw Barney and Polo on their evening walk. Barney is a gentle older boy golden retriever with very tired legs, Polo is a bearded collie unfriendly devil dog. She is only slightly better behaved than Mutley, though, who is determined to pick a fight with my big big dog. I tried to pacify him with a dog treat and he growled at me. 'Quite right' I said. 'Don't take food from strangers'.

The neighbours have been away and I have been cat sitting. They are very sweet pussy-cats, one boy and one girl. The little boy disappeared for ten days earlier this year, feared dead. He dragged himself home, though, with a broken pelvis; and a substantial amount of money later, he is completely recovered, walking fine, and is a darling little black cat. Sometimes you just can't put a price on doing the right thing. And I always get yummy fudge when the neighbours come back from Cornwall!

And that was the weekend that was. Hope your weekend was lots of fun, too.
