We all like to do it. Witter on and on. Now there's a linky that justifies our need for a natter. My witter for this week is on maggots!
The council, in their wisdom, collect our food waste once a week. We have a kitchen caddy lined with a compostable bag, which then goes into a roadside collection box. Seems like a good idea, but not in the warm weather we have had recently.
The bags are decomposing in the kitchen. The maggots peek out from under the lid. They make my skin crawl. I double-bag the waste and take it to the outside box. That sorts the problem in the kitchen, but I still have a maggotty box to deal with after collection.
Our collection men do a wonderful job, but it really can't be pleasant in the warm weather. I'm looking forward to cooler days, and no maggots.
