We celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary at Forest Holidays Blackwood Forest site in Hampshire. This is not a sponsored post. I just have to share, because it was so romantic AND dog-friendly. We all had a wonderful time.
This is our photo story board.
Beautifully appointed, luxury wood cabins set in a beech forest.
Each cabin is sited for privacy.
This is a working beech forest, managed by the Forestry Commission.
The changing light through the trees was enchanting.
This was a great way to soothe the legs and feet after a long dog walk in the forest.
Just for humans, of course.
The rubber duck is placed on the cover of the jacuzzi when it has been checked each day.
This beautiful seat greets you as you arrive at the Forest Retreat.
Just so you know which way is home.
After a week in the forest, you might just want to forget and stay forever.
The Forest Retreat caters for almost all needs and tastes. A small gift shop, selected fresh and luxury food items. A cafe, bar and take away. Order fresh bread and pizza. Book a chef.
Have a massage or pedicure in your cabin. It's all here.
The site is sensitively laid out, with attention to detail.
Lots of activities... This one for Mr B.
Perfect for BriniZozi.
Hire a bike and cycle the forest paths.
I enjoyed photographing the fauna and flora.
This invertebrate hotel was fascinating.
Lots of wildflower meadows.
My anniversary gift from Mr B.
Speckled Wood butterfly.
Limbering up for a run through the forest.
If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise.
A Teddy Bears picnic being set up in the forest.
The Rangers work hard to make all forest experiences special.
Giving instructions to Mr B on how to use the camera. At least BriniZozi are photogenic.
Mr B on the Forest Trim Trail. We walked all the trails, the trim trail and the tree trail. We also left the forests to explore the surrounding bridlepaths. Many happy hours of dawdling through the countryside.
We didn't cycle or do a Ranger walk as we had the dogs with us.
